Partners in the Solution

Higgins Auto Parts was among the very first auto dismantling facilities to be certified by the State of California Auto Dismantlers Association's Partners in the Solution program. This proactive, industry-led program motivates facility operators to achieve and maintain a high level of business, environmental and safety performance standards. Member facilities participate in a regular audit and site inspection review which is conducted by qualified independent environmental service contractors. The Partners Program was the 2006 recipient of the highest environmental honor in the state of California, the prestigious "Governor's Environmental and Economical Leadership Award".



Out of over 1200 dismantlers licensed in the state of California, Higgins Auto Parts is proud to be one of less than 200 facilities to currently be certified by the Partners in the Solution program.

In addition to providing a product (recycled auto parts) that can be reused without any further manufacturing or remanufacturing processes, Higgins Auto Parts is a responsible custodian of dangerous chemicals and byproducts that are potentially harmful to our environment. Higgins ensures that these toxic substances are properly contained and disposed. Here's a partial list of the hazardous materials we dutifully manage:

• Mercury (convenience switches)
• Lead Acid Batteries
• Motor, Transmission & Gear Oil
• Antifreeze
• Brake fluid

Also, don't forget that the major construction materials (steel, aluminum and other metals) of each vehicle we process are recycled for reuse in everything from new more efficient autos to energy saving wind turbines.

Higgins Auto Parts is also proud to be a CAR and Gold Seal certified member of the Automotive Recyclers Association international.



Established in 1994, the CAR program was created to produce a set of standards for general business practices as well as environmental and safety issues and to provide guidance for member facilities in adhering to these standards. This program is one of the cornerstones of this association as the facilities participating strive to put forward quality service and parts for the professional automotive recycling industry.



The ARA Gold Seal program, available only to those ARA members who have completed CAR certification, ensures excellence in customer satisfaction through improved customer service, quality parts with accurate descriptions, reliable on-time deliveries and written product warranties.
